The wait is over Magic Mike the sequel is officially in production and has begun holding movie casting calls for the new film that has been given a rather provocative title Magic Mike XXL. A little over three years ago Channing Tatum took an artful approach to bringing his fans into a small part of his past. Magic Mike took us into the daring life of a male stripper trying to find his way in the world. We fell in love with his friends, his struggles and his fascinating dance moves. Magic Mike left us wondering what happened to the sexy band of misfits after Mike’s departure and what new avenue did Mike choose to pursue.

While we expected the storyline to move progressively forward with Mike, production has confirmed that this is a “Last Hurrah” of sorts for the old gang. Magic Mike XXL will center around most of the original cast – which includes Channing Tatum as Magic Mike, Matt Bomer as Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello as Big Dick Richie, Kevin Nash as Tarzan, Adam Rodriguez  as Tito and Alex Pettyfer as Adam (rumored) – who find themselves ready to take a cue from Mike and bow out of the “the Life”. The guys decide that if they are to get out of the game they should go out with a bang. Of course what better way to do that than to enlist Mike as the headlining act and take the show on the road? (See Synopsis Below) Wild road trip anyone?

“Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, ‘Magic Mike XXL’ finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.”

Magic Mike XXL is promising to be one very racy, steamy and wild ride. Several actors have signed up to join the original cast in this adventure; the line-up includes Elizabeth Banks, Amber Heard, Donald Glover, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Michael Strahan. As of Monday Ellen Degeneres’s very own Nick The Gardener, whom for the past month has been gracing our Ellen Hour in various forms of shirtless undress as he tends to her garden wall. Ellen began a campaign to get him a part in the movie, by pulling some strings and contacting Warner Bros., who is the production company behind Magic Mike XXL, and landing Nick an audition. Nick the Gardener (whose real name is Bill Reilich and is a former assistant basketball coach) got his shot at fame when Channing Tatum called into the show to reveal the very, very good news this past Monday (October 13th). Nick the Gardener’s abs has moved from the small screen to the spectacular big screen.

Nick! What’s up man?” he said. “After careful inspection of your ab region, we have deducted that we need you in Magic Mike XXL.”
