The Lifetime Original movie With This Ring stars Regina Hall whom you may remember from Think Like A Man 1 and 2, Jill Scot who you should remember from Get On Up and Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? And Eve Jeffers Cooper who is most remembered for her roles in Barbershop and herself titled TV show Eve.
The film follows three single friends who vow to get married within the year after attending the wedding of their best friend on New Year’s Eve. It is a film adaptation of the best-selling novel The Vow written by Denene Millner, Angela Burt-Murray and Mitzi Miller. The script was written by Nzingha Stewart who has written episodes for TV series The Fosters and The Game.
Gabrielle Union optioned the book five years ago and consequently sold it to Sony Pictures for Lifetime. Union produces this film alongside Tracey Edmonds who produced the romantic comedy Jumping the Broom. This is Union’s first project as a producer.
With This Ring brings together an array of notable African American actors. Brooklyn Sudano who starred as Michael Kyle Jr’s love interest, Vanessa Scott, on TV series My Wife and Kids. Stephen C Bishop who stars as David Polk in BET’s Being Mary Jane, Jason George who has starred in Grey’s Anatomy and Mistresses, Brian White whom you may remember from Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds and I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.
“After attending their friend Elise’s (Sudano) wedding to Nate (Bishop) on New Year’s Eve, Trista (Hall), a career-driven talent agent, Viviane (Scott), a successful gossip columnist, and Amaya (Cooper), a struggling actress, make a pact to get married within the year to either a new love or a man waiting in the wings.
